At first, green grass
Peeking above
Then ever so slowly
No grass at all
So white, so pure it falls
Like sunlight
Without heat
Falling clean
and fresh
Lacy flakes, small and large
Every one so different
Filling the skies
Cold
and crisp
Like jewels in sunlight
Sparkling diamonds
Covering the ground
Like a blanket
Soft and quiet
Soothing silence
Brightness
In the dark of night
