"Producing a portrait is a joy. It must carry the likeness, a true sense of the subject, connect the viewer to the subject and achieve excellence for the client." Julie Williams.
Julie Williams meets with each client for an hour and a half, three times during the creative process. The first meeting is to discuss exactly what the client wants in an heirloom portrait and to conceptualize the project. Next the subject is photographed in a variety of poses and lighting conditions from which the actual pose for the painting will be chosen. Ms. Williams will paint a small preliminary study in oil to work out the mood and composition of the proposed portrait. Upon the client's approval of the study, the artist will begin the final portrait.
One third of the cost will be requested at the time of commission and signing of the contract. An additional third is to be paid when the portrait reaches midpoint and the final third of the payment is due upon completion and delivery of the painting.
